Re-building your Hand

   Another post about robotics! This one is a little different from the previous posts. The system proposed is a modular prosthetic assembly for hands. Its modular in the sense that the design can accommodate different variations of disabilities; for example if someone is missing just the index finger and the thumb, the system can be built to only replace those missing appendages.

   What I find interesting is that there is currently a lot of chatter on the internet about "limb regeneration", which unlike prosthesis which aims to replace a missing appendages, aims to re-grow your missing appendages to be exactly as they were. The reason why I find this interesting is because I'm really curious to see who wins in the end. Not that its a competition, but I still want to see if limb regeneration actually becomes a common thing replacing prosthetics altogether.
