Touch & Go Navigation System

This device known as Touch & Go is a navigation system that combines a relief map and an earpiece. The relief map is comprised of tactile directions, which allows its user to follow an arrow in relief showing movement direction as well as an earpiece that provides auditory support confirming the destination. The Touch & Go also has a camera that captures objects and relays the information to its user through a simplified relief. I found this technology interesting within the context of the project to aid the visually impaired since it uses a tactile method of communication similar to Braille in addition to auditory information. The device got me thinking of modes of communication affected by touch/interaction i.e. rumble strips on the side of highways or preceding major intersections and speed bumps.
