GM advanced tech window

General Motors Research and Development put a challenge to researchers and students from the FUTURE LAB at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Israel: to conceptualize new ways to help rear seat passengers, particularly children, have a richer experience on the road. The Windows of Opportunity (WOO) Project was inspired by psychological studies indicating car passengers often feel disconnected from their environment, GM asked the Bezalel students to turn car windows into interactive displays capable of stimulating awareness, nurturing curiosity and encouraging a stronger connection with the world outside the vehicle.

I personally think it would be cooler if the technology allows passenger to play around with the window without being seen outside....

  1. It is amazing how much technology has progressed ever since the first car was developed by Henry Ford. I just think there’s one disadvantage to this advanced tech; it can cause one to lose focus on the road. Nevertheless, this is one outstanding concept. Getting out of the box and implying improved technology is a total win-win! =)

  2. Long road trips won’t become too boring with this new technology. Though you bring up a valid concern Jessie, I think that this can easily be resolved. It’s as simple as not employing this technology on the driver’s side of the car, but I guess that this is easier said than done, huh? Most likely, drivers would want these on their side as well. Now, I wonder when this concept would start to rolling into the market. Probably a few more years, hopefully?

  3. If this concept will be released in the market, it will revolutionize the automobile industry. Every competitor will do everything to have this tech up on their sleeves. This innovation, however, should come with responsible driving; it is designed to facilitate a more pleasurable trip, not more car accidents.
