A company in Germany has invented a dye for bandages that changes colour when the wound becomes infected. Normal skin and wounds have a pH level of about 5, but infections have a higher level, around 6.5. The dye changes from clear to a very pretty purple/pink colour when the pH level goes above 6.5, indicating an infection.
The technology hasn't been perfected yet, but it's a pretty cool concept!
