Psychophysical Elements of Wearability

This was part of our Wearable Tech class readings, but the I thought it interesting if applied to other products we come into contact with daily.  One thing that it touched on was two kinds of mechanoreceptors and how tapping into these can enhance the experience or exacerbate the level of annoyance if unpleasant: 

Rapid adapting- where your body returns to rest state quickly after stimulated

Slow adapting- the nerves remain remain responsive for a longer period after experiencing a change (often studied element of clothing comfort) is not directly detected by the skin.
