While looking at the Core77 website I came across a book by Stefan Sagmeister called Things I have learned in my life so far. The book was formed based on a diary that Sagmeister recorded during a yearlong break he took from his graphic design company. After returning to work, he developed a series of projects focused on the personal anecdotes in his diary. “Everybody Always Thinks They Are Right” was one statement that was made public by Sagmeister when he produced large-scale inflatable monkeys which displayed the text.
He discovered the importance of taking time off work once he returned and found that he had a greater sense of freedom in relation to his clients as well as himself. Every seven years Sagmeister closes his New York studio for a yearlong sabbatical to allow himself and his employees time to refresh their minds.
